Blubirds song

I really enjoyed the second poem, "Bluebird." The author talks about a bluebird in his heart which I believe is his sadness. He talks about drowning it with whiskey, cigarettes, and prostitutes but his sadness doesn't die. He tries to tell himself that he is tough and doesn't let anyone see his inner hurt but he lets it out at night when no one is around. The only time he confronts his emotions is when he is alone. He has this lingering reminder, like a bluebirds singing, of the sadness in his heart. The bluebird could also represent his true self. He could be hiding who he really is in fear of people judging him. He covers up a part of him because he cares too much about what others think of him.
