Responding to Nathan

The man blinked twice, staring down the empty hall. Suddenly his gaze snapped back to me.
"Don't trust them!" he whispered urgently, grabbing my shoulder forcefully. "This isn't the government you thought you knew!"
I cried as his fingernails dug deeper into my arm, sure that they would leave marks. I was about to shove him away, but suddenly he vanished. The hallway flickered once, twice, and suddenly it was the clean hallway I had walked through earlier.
Two men in suits stood before me, one talking into his earpiece.
"Ma'am, we found him. It worked. Bringing him in now."
I didn't struggle as the men pulled me down the hall. They had at least fifty pounds and plenty of inches on me. And something told me that guns lurked beneath their dark suits.
I could see no trace of the trash that had littered the hallway or the mysterious man. Had I blacked out for a moment? Fallen and hit my head? Imagined the whole thing?
But my head felt perfectly fine, and as the men pulled me away, I noticed a pinprick of blood on my sleeve where the stranger had grabbed my arm.
