If I find in myself a desire which no experience
in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for
another world.
C. S. Lewis was a inspirational Christian. He believed that the every human desire stemmed from something real. We want pancakes because pancakes do exist. We wish to sleep in and skip school because it is a possibility. In the winter, we long for hot summer days.
All of those satisfactions exist. As such, all humans long for a god, deep down. Lewis believed that this longing proved that there is a god to satisfy this desire. He also believed that the fact that every civilization created "deities" to worship was proof that the Lord did exist, they were just not worshiping the true God.
