Good Grief!

Music can determine my mood in a heartbeat. One of my favorite happy songs right now is "Good Grief" by Bastille. It is actually a kind of sad story, but it seems happy because of the instruments the artists use.
It starts of by repeating "Watching through my fingers" twice, like the person is observing something bad going on. "Burning bright right till the end/now you'll be missing from the photographs (2x)" shows how someone has probably just died in his life. But their life was full and happy right up until death.
Gone but not forgotten right? The person still remembers this loved one "Crystallizing clear as day
Oh I can picture you so easily, picture you so easily." But he is still sad saying "What's gonna be left of the world if you're not in it?" The chorus jumps into saying how much he misses this other person "every minute of every hour".
In the third verse, he is "Caught off guard by your favorite song, Oh I'll be dancing at a funeral, dancing at a funeral". He still strongly feels for this person even though she is dead, and would even do something as inappropriate as "dance at a funeral" because it's her favorite song.
A little bit later and we find out this guy is a mess saying "You might have to excuse me
I've lost control of all my senses." People keep trying to "call me a fool, Put me in my place (2x)" but he doesn't care and still misses this person even more.

This song uses repetition of key phrases (like most songs) and empathy, as well as a storyline. This artist Bastille has also stolen the myth of Icarus for one of his songs "Icarus" as well as the story of "Pompeii" and the Bible story of "Daniel in the Den."
