Based on what I’ve seen so far, all of the TED talks seen to
have these three things in common:
1. The presenter is always informed about the subject they
are presenting on
2. The presenter engages the audience and captures their interest.
3. The presenter includes humorous phrases.
Because of the amount of research required for my senior
presentation, I should be fairly knowable in the subject I’m presenting.
However, a quick review to make sure I can talk intelligibly about my subject
would be helpful. I can also engage the audience more in my presentation by showing
my interest in the subject or adding questions to my presentation. The humor
part will most likely be skipped, however. This is because, at least to me,
humor is a very hard thing to do correctly. A funny joke will make your presentation
better, but if no one thinks it’s funny, then it’s just awkward.
