aye aye yuh
Music speaks to people, as poetry speaks to people. For me, the worship at church can touch me more than the sermon can. On another note, people don't read at parties. And, athletes don't get pumped to audiobooks before an event. Music just speaks differently to people than poems do. Music is so accessible and is something to lift people's spirits. I can think of thousands of songs that I know every word to, but can't think of a single line of poetry that I may have read or memorized. As Stephen would say, "there's a song to relate to every situation." I'm not sure if its the melodies, rhythms, or crazy beat drops that make music so fun and popular, but I do know that my spotify playlist isn't gonna change from music to people reading works of literature.
