Music over Poetry
The reason why music is so much more popular than poetry is simple, it's more easily accessible. Now you may say well how is that possible when you could pull up poetry just as fast as you could music on the internet. It's possible because music doesn't requiring reading. With music all you have to do is plug in some ear buds to your phone and hit play. Poetry on the other hand requires more attention and effort. You have to actually read poetry and that's not something you can do while walking or driving either. You don't have to read music when you can just have it playing in your ear as you walk or run or it could be playing through the radio in your car as you drive. With all logical reasoning aside, music is simply more enticing. Now obviously that is an opinion of mine, but it is an opinion shared by the majority of the world. So while there are people who prefer actual poetry to music, the majority of the world prefers music which is why it is more popular.
